Director James Ward and Producer Will Smith of Flying Knee Productions have produced a documentary on Veronica Ncube, a former aslyum seeker from South Africa who now resides in Galway City. The film is an intimate portrait of Veronica that delves into her experiences as an asylum seeker in the Direct Provisions Systems and her future aspirations to be an opera singer.
Director Caitríona Ní Chadhain with Slip Jig Media have created a bilingual documentary that looks at the Irish psyche and questions the strange dichotomy of love and fear, which some Irish people feel towards our native language. It follows Galway based comedian Áine Gallagher as she prepares material for her bi-lingual stand-up comedy shows and the film offers fresh insight into what it means to be an Irish-speaker in modern Ireland and encouragement to future Irish speakers.
