The Ballyglunin Railway Restoration Project team are hosting the launch of their International Crowd Funding Campaign on Thursday May 18th from 7pm.
Join Mary Kate Danaher & Sean Thornton, along with the Ballyglunin Station Restoration Committee at the station for an evening of music, stories and craic along with light refreshments!
The launch will be the start of their fund-raising initiative to gather much needed income for the restoration of Ballyglunin’s beautiful and historic railway building and surrounding structures.
The Ballyglunin Railway Station (more popularly known as Castletown) was the film location for the John Ford classic ‘The Quiet Man’. The future of the station is at threat due to dilapidation. The Ballyglunin Railway Restoration Project was established in 2004 and since then the community have successfully carried out restoration works on the signal cabin and goods store.
Please support & all welcome!
