Enghien-les-Bains (France), designated as a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts in 2013, has been chosen to host the UNESCO Creative Cities Network 11th Annual Meeting from 29 June to 2 July 2017.
According to Philippe Sueur, Mayor of Enghien-les-Bains, this will be an opportunity “to nurture the ties and the spirit of the Creative Cities” which is one of the main objectives of the UCCN Annual Meeting. The meeting is a key platform for dialogue between the Cities and UNESCO by covering strategic objectives and operations as well as by fostering exchange of information and experiences.
The UCCN Annual Meeting is a unique opportunity where cities are gathered to envisage innovative modalities to integrate creativity and culture at the core of sustainable urban development, mainly through international cooperation.
Declan Gibbons, Director of Galway City of Film is currently in Enghien-les-Bains with other members from the Creative Cities Network, discussing the further development of the UCCN preceding the Annual Meeting in June.
