Galway City of Film are delighted to announce an exciting new collaboration with Little Cinema taking place this June in Galway City!
The Little Cinema & Galway City of Film 48 Hour Challenge invites filmmakers to Galway City to make a film – write, shoot, and edit – in just 48 hours. The challenge is a test of filmmakers’ wits, ingenuity and ability to work together and make a film in just two days.
The 48 Hour challenge will launch on Thursday 15th June in the Cornstore at the Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture offices, where filmmaking teams will meet and register for the weekend. Filmmaking will commence on Friday 16th June and finish on the afternoon of Sunday 18th.
Galway’s Town Hall Theatre will host a special FREE screening of all completed films on Sunday evening where filmmakers have an opportunity to win a cash prize of €500!
Full information on the 48 Hour Challenge and details of registration will be announced shortly but for now please SAVE THE DATES 15th to 18th June 2017 as places will be limited.
Little Cinema said “We are really excited to be running our first 48 Hour Challenge with the Galway Film Centre and Galway City of Film. Over the years we’ve tried to run events that would challenge and test filmmakers and we think this one will be the toughest but most enjoyable yet!”
Galway City of Film’s Mary Deely added: In any walk of life, you can’t beat a deadline and we’re hopeful that this 48 hour limit for filmmakers will yield some great results! Galway UNESCO City of Film is delighted to partner with Little Cinema, who’ve been working away for nearly 7 years showcasing short films in Galway city every month. Mark the date in your diary and don’t miss out!
