Duration / Dates: 5 Saturdays & 2 Sundays (9.30am – 4.30pm) and 1 Tuesday & 4 Wednesday evenings (6pm – 9pm): Saturday March 5th, Wednesday March 9th, Saturday March 12th, Tuesday March 15th, Saturday March 19th, Sunday March 20th, Wednesday March 23rd, Saturday April 2nd, Sunday April 3rd, Wednesday April 6th, Saturday April 9th and Wednesday April 13th, 2015.
Cost: €425 unwaged/€475 waged. Includes membership to the Centre for the year.

Over five weeks*, this course will introduce beginners to all the elements involved in making a documentary film. Through a mixture of theory and practical work, experienced documentary maker, Jill Beardsworth, will guide eight participants to make 2 short documentaries.
Modules covered will include:
- Genres of documentary
- Proposal writing & Pitching
- Camera (Tutor: Experienced Documentary Maker, Keith Walsh)
- Interview Techniques
- Production including budgets
* Course takes place on five Saturdays and two Sundays from 9.30am -4.30pm and one Tuesday and four Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm – 9.00pm
About the Tutor:
Jill Beardsworth is an award winning documentary maker and editor who has been making documentaries for 12 years. Her work has been broadcast on TG4, RTE and screened at film festivals nationally and internationally. By working in a two-person crew unit the quality of her work is intimate, revelatory and thought-provoking.
