Galway Film Centre presents ‘Next Stop – Stories from Galway’s Railways’ with The Heritage Council and Galway County Council

Galway Film Centre in conjunction with The Heritage Council and Galway County Council are delighted to present ‘Next Stop – Stories from Galway’s Railways’. Watch the 4 short documentaries below, all set amongst our Railway Heritage in County Galway. 

‘Castlegrove Station’ is the story of a man and his young family who move from Dublin back to his native Galway. ‘The Fishing line’ explores one mans love of angling in the shadow of Ballynahinch Castle. ‘One day in Castletown’ is the story of a community group and their efforts to restore an iconic building while ‘Temporary Track’ deals with a little know private railway used to harvest turf.

The films are directed by Galway based filmmaker Paul Murphy, shot by cameraman Ivan Marcos and scored by Kieran Quinn – part of the team behind the award winning short drama ‘The Weather Report’.
