Film School 2015

Film School 2015 is open for applications and commences on Saturday February 7th. The course, which runs over 8 weekends, is tutored by industry professionals, with experience with RTÉ, TG4, the Irish Film Board and beyond and takes place here at Galway Film Centre, Cluain Mhuire on the Wellpark Road.

Recent films made on the course have been selected for film festivals around the world. In particular, THE USUAL, was selected as the Irish nominee for the Iris Prize in the UK in 2014 and is still touring the festival circuit, with the next screening taking place at Dingle International Film Festival in March.

Topics covered will include:
• Production
• Scriptwriting
• Camera & lighting
• Direction
• Sound
• Editing

The course is suited to those who wish to try to seek work in the film industry at an entry level, those who wish to know what goes on behind the scenes in film-making, or those who wish to study film at college.

Date: 16 days (8 Saturdays & 8 Sundays from 9.30am – 4.30pm each day): February 7 & 8, February 14 & 15, February 21 & 22, February 28 & March 1, March 7 & 8, March 21 & 22, March 28 & 29, April 11 & 12. Email education@galwayfilmcentre.ie to register interest.
Cost: €700 unwaged/€800 waged (includes membership to Galway Film Centre). Just 10 places so early booking is advised. A non-refundable deposit of €300 is required to secure your place on the course.
