An Taibhdhearc want to find new voices to write for the stage in Irish, contemporary stories or old stories with a new twist. Writers should have some previous experience in writing for stage or other media. Dialogue must be written in Irish. However, the pitch documents should be written in both Irish and English to allow for expert feedback on concepts.

: Submissions will be read by a panel of experts. Awards of 1,000 Euro each will be made to three writers.
The plays will be developed with a Script Editor leading to rehearsed readings of the plays on stage at An Taibhhdearc. One of the plays will then be chosen for production as part of the Walter Macken Centenary celebrations in 2015.
DEADLINE: Scripts must be received by 17.00 on Wednesday 1st October 2014, in hard copy only, double-spaced, on one side of the page, without the author’s name. The shortlist will be announced within two weeks.
