The 19th edition of the Junior Galway Film Fleadh will take place from 13-16th November 2013 in the Town Hall Theatre and Galway Technical Institute.
A diverse line-up is on offer for young people from the ages of 4 and upwards with an exciting and stimulating mix of features, documentaries and workshops.
The programme has been devised to support the curriculum, to develop the imagination and to inspire both discussion and creativity within the world of cinema among young people.
Workshops to stimulate creativity and imagination will include (new for 2013): Introduction to Visual Effects with Leon Butler where the participants will learn how to create Hollywood style effects easily and quickly. This workshop will cover some of the most popular effects including time remapping, green screen croma key and compositing in After Effects. Sat 16th November 2pm – 5pm. Age 13+ limited places. Ideal for the budding filmmaker.
For our younger audience (age 9+) the Junior Galway Film Fleadh is delighted to host an Introduction to Stop Motion Animation with artist and animator Denise McDonagh who will introduce budding animators to the art of stop motion using a cutout style on coloured paper. Sat 16th November 10.30 – 1pm. Limited places
For those with some experience of animation then our Fun with Animation Workshop (age 9+) on Thursday 14th November 10.30 – 1pm could be just the thing. Facilitated by experienced animator Edith Pieperhoff students will learn how to create their own character and bring it to life. Ideal for school groups (maximum 15 students).
For students who are interested in acting then Acting for the Screen with upcoming young actor Emma Eliza Regan (The Shadows) is one not to be missed on either Wednesday 13th or Friday 15th November. Suitable for those aged 13+. Limited places.
