The San Francisco Irish Film Festival program has been announced and we’re delighted that, Heart and Hand, a short documentary created on our documentary-making course has been included in the selection. The film was directed by Emma-Kate O’ Reilly and looks at how from its humble roots in the fishing village of the Claddagh, the Claddagh ring has identified the Irishness of its wearer, both living and lost right up to present day. Other crew involved in the film include: Siddhi Joshi, Yvonne Cullivan and Barry King. The course was tutored by Jill Beardsworth.
Heart and Hand has already screened in competition at Galway Film Fleadh 2013.
The film will screen as part of the Short Stories, Tall Tales Section on Saturday September 21st at 6.30pm.
Also included in that section is Scratch, a short film made through the Galway Film Centre/RTÉ Short Script. The film is directed by Phillip Kelly and produced by Dave Leahy and Liam Ryan. The short drama is about Eoin, whose life is turned upside down when an unexpected mix of regulars and strangers turn up during his shift at a local petrol station.
Well done everyone!
