Tough Love in IFI Stranger than Fiction Festival

The 10th IFI Stranger than Fiction Programme has been announced and we’re delighted that one of our short documentaries, Tough Love, has been included in the selection. The short was created on our Documentary-making Programme tutored by Jill Beardsworth and Keith Walsh and was directed by Emer O’ Shea. Other crew were: Joanna Kisielinska (camera/writer), Neil Hynes (sound), John Fair (production manager). The film has already screened at Galway Film Fleadh 2013.

The film is about kick-boxing couple, Aoife Sharkey and Ken Horan. It’s a touching portrait of a couple’s passion for a combative sport, which also manages to reveals the warmth and love between them. Their softly spoken nature contrasts strongly with their strength and power in the boxing ring.

The film will screen on Saturday September 28th at 2pm in the IFI, Dublin. More info here: http://www.ifi.ie/film/documentary-shorts/

The festival runs from Friday September 27th to Sunday September 29th and includes some Irish and World premieres. More info here: http://www.ifi.ie/stf
