We’re delighted to announce the winning films for the One Minute Film Festival 2017!
First place went to Arjan Brentjes for his animation TEMPO.
Arjan Brentjes often takes the viewer back to a movie style from the past, to look at our future from there. Thereby wittily commenting on the development of our technological society. ‘Tempo’ is his first fully animated film, a complete solo project from script to final edit.
“A man tries to relax on a bench in the park, but he’s constantly bothered by the latest innovations. As his life slows down, technology speeds up. And that whole story wrapped in exactly one minute.”

Second place went to Tina Glynn for her stop-motion Animation NANNA’S HOUSE.
“A lonely grandmother voices her deepest regret…”
This year we have a joint 3rd place!
Joint 3rd place winner is PARFUM by Graham Cantwell.
“The film follows Derek and Lucy, as Derek shows his sister the device he’s created which enables him to do anything and create anything he wants. Fun at first, we slowly begin to see that Derek has created this device for far more sentimental reasons than we might first think.”
Congratulations to all filmmakers and thank you to everybody for submitting to this year’s One Minute Film Festival at the Galway Film Fleadh.
