In October 2016, 16 filmmakers from across Northern Europe travelled to Galway to take part in ‘Galway Stories’ Ireland’s first ever Screen Talent Europe film production camp.
Screen Talent Europe is a network of film support centres in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Faroe Islands, Germany, Ireland, Northern Ireland and France whose purpose is to promote and foster co-operation between our partners and to help filmmakers exchange knowledge, experiences and methods through talent camps, network meetings and co-productions.
Four documentaries were produced and shot in and around Galway city and county; Our Right to Choose (9.38min), M’athair (8.15min), Men In The Mirror (10.44min), All The Best People Are Mad (12.19min).
The Galway Stories films uncover the diverse lives of various people across Galway City and County including a fisherman on Inis Oírr, a spiritual medium in Tuam along with both campaigners for women’s rights and a Nigerian taxi driver in Galway City.
The four films will screen at the Galway Film Fleadh at 11.30am on Sunday 16th July in the Town Hall Theatre Studio.
Tickets are FREE but need to be booked: http://www.galwayfilmfleadh.com/index.php/project/galway-stories/
