Sa chaint seo, cíorfar an próiseas scríbhneoireachta agus forbartha a bhain leis an scannán, A Date for Mad Mary, a rinneadh sa tír seo agus ar bronnadh duais ar lucht a dhéanta. Cuirfidh Christian O’Reilly (scríbhneoir) agallamh ar Colin Thornton (scríbhneoir) agus ar Darren Thornton (scríbhneoir/stiúrthóir) faoin script agus mar a cuireadh in oiriúint don scannán í.  Tá an t-imeacht dírithe ar scríbhneoirí, ar léiritheoirí agus ar stiúrthóirí.

Ba mar sheó stáitse aonair a tháinig ‘A Date for Mad Mary’ ar an bhfód ar dtús, arna scríobh agus arna chur i láthair ag Yasmine Akram agus arna stiúradh ag Darren Thornton, ón gCuideachta Amharclannaíochta,  Calipo.  Bhí an scannán ar cheann de dhá scannán ar bronnadh gradam An Scannán is Fearr in Éirinn orthu ag Fleadh Scannán na Gaillimhe, 2016, agus bhuaigh an príomhaisteoir ann, Seana Kerslake (Can’t Cope, Won’t Cope) gradam an Rising Star.  Taifeadadh an scannán thar 28 lá i mBaile Átha Cliath agus i nDroichead Átha i mí na Samhna 2014 agus is é an chéad phríomhscannán é leis an scríbhneoir/stiúrthóir Darren Thornton.

Scrúdófar sa chaint seo:

  • An cóiriú, ó chóiriú stáitse go script scannáin
  • An próiseas comhscríbhneoireachta
  • An próiseas forbartha
  • Anailís ar an script scannáin agus ar úsáid uirlisí scéalaíochta

Is féidir breathnú ar an scannán ar Volta (http://www.volta.ie/), ach taispeánfar é roimh an gcaint ar an 8ú Márta ón 9.30am amach. Lena chois sin, cuirfear cóip de script an scannáin ar ríomhphost chuig rannpháirtithe roimh ré.  Is in Óstán an G a bheidh an t-imeacht seo ar siúl agus beidh lón líonraithe ann ina dhiaidh.

Scannán de chuid Element Pictures a bhí ann, i gcomhar le hÚdarás Craolacháin na hÉireann, Bord Scannán na hÉireann agus TV3, agus tacaíocht aige ó Chlár MEDIA an Aontais Eorpaigh.
