Chun Seachtain na Gaeilge a chomóradh tá lúchair ar Cheantar Scannán na Gaillimhe GEARRSCANNÁN a thaispeáint i gcomhar le IFI Education, sa Taibhdhearc ar an 13ú Márta.

  • Beirt le Chéile: Tar éis Éirí Amach na Cásca, iompraíonn Tom a dheartháir gortaithe trí bhunchnoic Chill Mhantáin chun cabhair a fháil –11 nóim – Stiúrthóir: Stephen Daly
  • Rince: Agus an Mháthair ag ullmhú dinnéar tá an clann ag léiriú iomaíocht géar damhsaíochta. – 8 nóim – Stiúrthóir: Medb Johnstone

To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, Galway City of Film is delighted to screen GEARRSCANNÁN in conjunction with the Irish Film Institute Education Programme in An Taibhdhearc Theatre on Monday 13th March.

GEARRSCANNÁN is a selection of Irish language short films and will include the following titles:

  • Rúbaí : A young girl refuses to participate in her upcoming First Communion, announcing herself as an atheist – 11 mins – Director: Louise Ní Fhiannachta.
  • Beirt le Chéile: With his brother Michael severely wounded after the 1916 Easter Rising, Tom frantically searches the Wicklow Mountains for help –11 mins – – Director: Stephen Daly
  • Rince: The competitive edge of a rural family of dancers is revealed as their mother prepares dinner – 8 minutes – Director: Medb Johnstone
  • Céad Ghrá: Two best friends set out to pursue their first love – 12 mins – Director: Brian Deane
  • Cáca Milis: When a young woman’s train journey is disturbed by blind man, she plots to get revenge – 18 mins – Director: Jennifer Keegan
  • Buddy: During the festive season, a kind-hearted stranger helps an abused woman and her young son –  7 mins – Director: Pat Comer
  • El Toro: Cian, the target of school bullies, has a shot at gaining the respect of his peers by going head-to-head with a bull – 14 mins – Director: Tomás Seoighe
