The documentary explores the devastating physical and psychological impact of tendon injuries amongst athletes. The film also meets the team of Galway-based CÚRAM researchers who are trying to design a new type of tendon implant – in the form of the world’s first 3D cell assembled tendon prototype, which could mark a groundbreaking change for the world of sport.
Mending Legends’ is one of two documentaries commissioned under this new Science on Screen strand of programming and will premiere at Galway Science and Technology Festival, during the Science Foundation Ireland-supported National Science Week in 2016.
