Little Cinema Events

Little Cinema will be having a Christmas Special Little Cinema on 17th December, where all festive shorts will be screened! Doors are at 8pm instead of 9pm at the Roisin Dubh and tickets are available here. http://thelittlecinema.com/buy-tickets/

They are also having another Mystery Screening on Saturday 20th December where we’ll take a bus load of people out to an amazing location and screen a fantastic Christmas film which will get you into the Christmas Spirit! Get tickets here. Be at the cathedral at 6.15pm on the 20th, as the buses will leave at 6.30pm sharp!

Little Cinema are also raising money in the lead up to our Xmas screening by having a “12 Days Of Christmas” fundraiser! It is in aid of the Oranmore based charity Hand In Hand which provides invaluable practical support for families in the West of Ireland whose lives have been affected by childhood cancer.

Monday 8th Dec – Galway musician David Owens is busking on Shop Street with money raised going to Hand in Hand

Monday 8th Dec –  Galway Gaming Tribes will be hosting a night of board games and console games at their regular gaming night in Kelly’s bar upstairs.  Entry is free with games played on a pay per play basis with all money raised going to Hand In  Hand. Doors 7pm

Tuesday 9th December – The Secret Garden Cafe on Sea Road will be hosting a night of Connect 4, Draughts and Chess, on a pay per play basis, with all money raised going to Hand In hand

Wednesday 10th December –  Galway City Karting will be hosting a Karting competition at their track in Liosban Industrial Estate. It’s €15 entry of which €5 goes to charity and there will be 3 races with the best 8 people having a race- off in a final!

Friday 12th December – The Cellar bar is hosting a night of amazing music and comedy with some of Galway’s best musicians and comedians taking part.  Doors are at 8.30pm and entry is €3 with all money going to charity. Comedian Steve Bennett is hosting with music from Steven Sharpe, Dave Owens, Dylan Murphy, Tara Stacey and comedy from Johnny Graham and Bob Hennigan.

Saturday 13th December – Galway singer songwriter Steven Sharpe is playing a gig at the Roisin Dubh upstairs  with all money raised from the going to charity! Doors are at 9pm

Sunday 14th December – The Little Cinema are presenting a Celebrity Edition of Mastermind, hosted in Kelly’s bar where five of Galway’s finest will be pitting their wits against each other to see who is Galway’s Official Mastermind!  Those taking part are:

Gar O’Brien, the Galway Film Fleadh Programmer whose specialist subject  will be all aspects of the Batman comics!

Dave Coyne, Bond fanatic and host of the regular Movie Table Quizzes in Galway, will be answering questions on James Bond;

John Breslin,  Senior NUIG lecturer and co-founder of Boards.ie and Adverts.ie  will be answering questions on Star Trek!

Tracy Geraghty, Project Manager of the Solas Picture House who will be specializing on Irish Film Board Films 1993-1998!

Lelia Doolan, the ex-chairperson of the Irish Film Board, co-founder of the Galway Film Fleadh, who will be specializing in the movie Singing In The Rain.

Doors  are at 8pm and admission is €5, and it will be lots of laughs and lots of fun with all the proceeds raised going to the charity Hand in Hand.

Monday 15th December – Galway Gaming Tribes will be hosting a night of board games and console games at their regular gaming night in Kelly’s bar upstairs, including a Mario Kart competition.  Entry is free with games played on a pay per play basis with all money raised going to Hand In  Hand. Doors 7pm

Tuesday 16th December – The Little Cinema will host a Table Quiz at the Roisin Dubh. All are welcome to attend, tables are €20 for four people and if you don’t know the answer, give a funny answer and if it gets read out you get your team a point, so everyone has a chance of winning! Doors are at 7.30pm. All money raised will be going to charity!

Wednesday 17th December – At the Little Cinema Screening, Galway caricature artist Allan Cavanagh will be doing caricatures for people for a donation to Hand In Hand.
